LONDON (AP) — Deborah Kerr, who shared one of Hollywood's most famous kisses and made her mark with such roles as the correct widow in "The King and I" and the unhappy officer's wife in "From Here to Eternity," has died. She was 86
Those of you who have known me for a long time (going back to ninth grade) know why I am writing about this.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Move over, peace and happiness. Computers are what Americans really want nowadays. The machines that feed us infinite and instant information, store our digital memories, give us hours of fun with games, videos or music — and help us do our taxes — outrank peace, happiness and clothes this year as the most wished-for gifts, according to an annual U.S. survey by the consumer electronics industry's largest trade organization.

So basically, people can be depressed and sitting in a war-ridden house, but as long as they have a computer they'll be ok. Nice.
Well, technically I didn't fight it but it still won anyway.
In March 2007, Montgomery County, MD rolled out their new speed camera system.
On September 25, I happened to be driving down Randolph Road at the deplorable speed of 47 (in a 35 MPH zone). I received a ticket in the mail for $40 complete with 3 different pictures of my car which was automatically recognizable not by my license plate (you think I know the number?) but by the Mischief Managed bumper sticker I sport on my rear bumper.
Up until this point I have prided myself on never having recieved a speeding ticket- I mean sure, I have been sued for half a million dollars after a car accident (settled for $1500 incidentally), but I was never one of those people who had a good speeding story. Sad thing is that I still don't. I don't have the "license and registration, Ma'am" story or the "me trying talking/crying myself out of a ticket" speeding story.
I have been told by a lawyer friend and cousin that eventually someone will argue about the constituionality of this whole thing since technically there is no proof that I was the one driving the car. However, I have also been told (by a husband of mine) that I won't be the one to argue about the constitutionality of this whole thing.
So, in the meantime, I'll pay the fine, hope it doesn't happen again (surely it will because honestly, 47 in a 35 MPH zone is hard to feel) and hope that I can still claim never to have been pulled over for a long long time.
