It's the most hectic time of the year...

Alright, I understand when Rosh Hashana/Succos time and Pesach time are hectic, but why do I feel so overwhelmed by the upcoming Holiday of Chanukah???

First, its the stupid presents. Between the kids (who we really don't buy anything big for, we let their various aunts, uncles, grandparents and great grandparents take care of that), parents, in-laws, grandmother, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, teachers, teachers assistants, bus driver, Occupational Therapist, Babysitter, and Cleaning lady I can't keep it straight. Everytime I turn around I remember someone else I have to give a gift to. I am so not good at giving presents either.

Then it is all the Chanukah incedentals. I just remembered today to go buy candles and oil. I totally would have forgotten if Gila hadn't mentioned something about Chanukah candles.

I have to keep all the Chanukah parties, family/school get togethers straight and set up all the stuff for Chanukah.

This is by far not the most overwhelming time of the Jewish year (Believe me, I have made pesach two years in a row now- I know what overwhelming means), but I honestly didn't remember about having to do all this stuff...I guess one good thing is I didn't have to decorate the outside of my house with lights.

Happy Holidays, Glen Burnie Style

For all the people out there who appreciate a good Bawlmer accent, listen to this song called "Christmas In Glen Burnie" by Brent Hardesty.

When you're dun listnin' to it, call me and mebe we'll go on over to Hamden and see 34th street, but I gotta arn my clothes first, hun.

P.S. speaking of X-mas, there is nothing better than having your 4 year old kid saying something about Santa and being able to respond, "You know he's not real." I love being Jewish.

I've Been Tagged

Well, Soccer Dad has tagged me. I almost ignored this, since I have been in bed for the last 16 hours (strep throat stinks) but I decided, it hurts too much to talk, I have no energy to clean my house, and this can give me something to do while sitting in one place for a while...

OK, here were the instructions:

I've seen this meme floating around, but not yet in the J-blogosphere. So here goes:

1. Turn on your mp3 player.
2. Hit shuffle.
3. Put the first fifteen songs that come up in a post. No matter how embarassing. No cheating!

Here goes:

Chazak Amenu: We stand As One (unplugged): Voices for Israel

More Than Words: Extreme

K'ayol: Dveykus

Bohemian Polka: Weird Al Yankovic

Mrs. Robinson: Simon and Garfunkel

Another One Bites the Dust: Queen

On the Edge: Jim Brickman

Free Bird: Lynyrd Skynyrd

Sweet Dreams: Air Supply

Night Shift/Stir it Up: O.A.R.

Stuck in a Moment You Can't get Out Of: U2

A Song That Never Comes: Mama Cass

Two Step: Dave Matthews Band

Adon Olom: Yeshiva Boys Choir

Hey Ya!: Outkast

Well if that isn't an original playlist, I don't know what is!
