So, over pesach I drank coffee with regular sugar. I am usually a huge Splenda person but since it is not kosher for pesach, and I can not tolerate sweet and low, I had to resort to going au natural in my coffee cup.
The weird thing is that now that pesach is over, when I put the same amount of Splenda into my coffee that I did before pesach, it tastes WAY too sweet. Even in work where the coffee is totally bitter and I used to put 4 splendas in to make it tolerable, I can now take no more than two at a time without thinking that I will go into shock from the sweet taste.
I know that our taste sense changes as we age. I dealt with that on a daily basis for a while when I had a patient who required us to put sugar and mix icecream with EVERYTHING she ate (including mashed potatoes, meat, chicken, you name it) because she couldn't taste anything but sweet. But is it possible my sense of taste changed over an 8 day holiday period?
Has anyone else dealt with anything like this or am I, once again, a freak of nature?!?

Or they won't even notice.
I started drinking coffee with real sugar and I was putting in like 4 packets, then I switched to Equal, and 2 packets is perfect.
Have fun today!
