I probably wouldn't have blogged about this if it hadn't happened TWICE in one week.
Last week I was at the Gucci Giant and there was a guy in line behind me. I had put less than half of my food on the belt when he started to load his stuff onto the belt as well. I didn't want to say anything so instead I frantically started putting my food on the belt as soon as there was the smallest amount of room but I felt like I was racing against the clock. I didn't confront the guy because I thought that maybe he just didn't have a clue about grocery store ettiquette (you know the rule that says you let the person in front of you actually finish her shopping before you start in on her?). Anyway, I let it go and I actually forgot about it.
Until today.
I was in Seven Mile and the SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED!! This time it was a woman behind me. Once again, less than half of my food was out of my cart and she began loading her food. Once again, I remained silent. I don't know why but I figured that there was no use in my calling attention to it- what are the chances this exact woman will be behind me again in the grocery store, I didn't want to embarrass her. So once again I played the frantic game of catch up to try to get all my food on the belt before she completely took it over.
Anyway, I doubt I will end up saying anything when this happens again next week (because let's face it, IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN) but at this point I am really just wondering whether I give off that "walk all over me" vibe.

Posted by: aishel at March 1, 2007 10:07 PMYes, some people just don't have a clue...
But next time you should say something.
I don't handle situations like this well.
Posted by: AlanLaz at March 1, 2007 11:34 PMHi! Please grab anti-Olmert's Purim buttons from http://samsonblinded.org/blog/purim_banners.htm
The buttons are free and could be hotlinked. Let's make some fun of Olmert!
Can I get a OIB?
Posted by: Jewboy at March 5, 2007 09:33 AMmaybe they read your blog and know of your family's food/eating “issues”, and think to themselves "its not like her kids are going to eat all that food in her cart anyway." I believe they were just trying to save you money.
Next time just thank them for their thoughtfulness.
