Well I finished the book late last night and I have to say this.
JKR- Thank you. This book was such a great improvement over the last one. It reminded me what I love about the H@rry Potter series. After I finished Book 5, I felt all "Pottered out", like I didn't care whether or not I read another one again. Now, I feel like I did after I read Book 4. I am thirsty for more.
There was nothing unbelievably shocking in this book, but it was an extremely enjoyable read. Many problems were resolved, and many were just started.
I want to write about the book in detail, but I will wait until more people have completed it (i.e., my mother).
I look forward to re-reading it, much more slowly, in the next few weeks.
Posted by peninah at July 18, 2005 07:03 PM | TrackBackNot shocking? Well, seeing that your mother is still not finished, I'll not ruin it. However, certain things were quite shocking to me. The woman next to me at the airplane had to ask me if I was okay after an involuntary gasp escaped me.
I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank JK Rowling for releasing the book the evening before my 13-hour flight-ordeal. However, I do wish that she had continued her trend of making it longer than the previous book so that it would have lasted me for longer than the first leg of the journey!
Posted by: Lara at July 19, 2005 07:48 PMsorry Lara, but thanks penny for not spoiling it for me...it sure made my trip more enjoyable..but I don't read as quickly as Lara.
Posted by: her mother at July 20, 2005 04:43 AMMaybe I am not as critical as other people, but I have really enjoyed all of the books.
