NEW YORK (AP) -- Starship may have built this city on rock and roll, but Blender magazine is tearing it down, naming the band's "We Built This City" as the worst song ever.FULL STORY
What? No way. I have such good memories of this song from when I was a kid. Especially when K-106 (of blessed memory) inserted their plug in the middle of the song "we built this city, we built Baltimore K106!). I know this is not a great song- but the worst? I highly doubt it. How about "Happy to Be Stuck With You" by Huey Lewis or "Dancing on the Ceiling" by Lionel Richie? So sad...
Posted by peninah at April 21, 2004 01:30 PMI had been unsuccessfully looking for this story, ever since I heard a snippet on the radio the other day. I think "We Built This City" is a decent 80's song and this story only makes me like it that much more. Go easy on the Huey Lewis and the News dis though!
Posted by: Jeff Price at April 21, 2004 01:45 PMI am not dissing all Huey Lewis- but sing that song to yourself- NOT GOOD!!
Posted by: peninah at April 21, 2004 04:17 PMNo, the worst song ever is "Muskrat Love" by The Captain and Tenille. Trust me on this.
