FALLBROOK, Califorina (AP) -- -- The elderly parents of Grammy-winning recording artist "Weird Al" Yankovic were found dead in their home, apparently victims of carbon monoxide poisoning, officials said.FULL STORY
Wow, that is crazy. Pathetically enough, I am a huge Weird Al fan (remind me to recount the story of the Weird Al concert sometime). The saddest thing is, being a Weird Al fan, and knowing his songs, when hearing news like this the first think you think of are his twisted lyrics and about how this could have been the punchline of one of his songs. Oh well. May the Yankovic family be comforted.
Posted by peninah at April 11, 2004 06:03 PMWhile I share with you my condolences I can't helped but be shocked by the fact that "Weird Al" went on with his concert that night (albeit, he dedicated it to his folks). Singing about "a live chicken in your underwear" would not be how I would choose to be memorialized, heck but that's just me.
Welcome to the blog, Donna!!! Yeah, I tend to agree with you, but I guess everyone handles their grief differently. From what I have seen in the past, celebrities usually "go on with the show" and say that is what the deceased would have wanted. All I know is if the deceased was a Jewish mother, that is NOT what she would have wanted!
