Kiefer

I just watched a few scenes from one of my all time favorite movies, A Few Good Men. Anyway, after seeing the scenes with Kiefer Sutherland as Lt. Jonathan Kendrick in them, I got to thinking. I am not going to go out on a limb and call him a really great actor, but I did notice that while I was watching him I could not imagine him playing Jack Bauer in 24. I couldn't fathom that the same actor played Kendrick and Bauer. He played both characters so unbelievably different. It is very refreshing to see and actually pay attention to an actor who does not play all his roles the same way. Unlike his co-star in A Few Good Men, Tom Cruise...

P.S. While we are on the subject of 24, can I just ask the more veteran watchers of this show (I only started this season) how they explain how Jack is old enough to be Kim's father? Anyone?

About a couple of different posts of yours:
1) I watched the first episode of 24. It was great but I usually have a Chavrusa at that time so I couldn't commit to it. It reminded me a bit of "Nowhere Man" and "Alias" in that the whole show seemed to be a dramatization of the joke "Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get you."
Ah but you asked about Jack's daughter. I wasn't struck by the implausibility. I guess I figured that he had about 20 years on his daughter. It may not have been impossible even if it was implausible. Does the same actress play the daughter now?
2) It sounds like your son Ezra is a Calvin in training. Good luck. We have one.

Yeah- I was figuring he had 20 years on her too. I just wonder what the story behind that is- it is not typical (except in some of our circles) for a guy to have a kid at 20 and then be a succesful whatever it is that Jack Bauer is.

Yes, we have often compared Ezra to Calvin. Should be an interesting ride!
