To tell or not to tell

I keep trying to decide whether to send out a mass e-mail to my address book announcing, "Hey I've got this blog- it will not make any impact on your life, but in case you are interested in entering my random thoughts-here is the link!" The biggest reason I don't want to do that is not because I am worried that people will judge me, criticize me or invade my privacy. It is more because I don't want to answer the questions, "what is a blog?" "why do you do this?" "what's the point?". The majority of people I would send it to are relatively clueless (NOTE: IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE SOMEONE I USUALLY E-MAIL AND YOU CAME ACROSS THIS ON YOUR OWN, I DON'T MEAN YOU) about the blogging world and all that transpired in the past few years. Granted, as I have mentioned before, I am less than computer savvy, but I am a frequent reader of at least 10 blogs and I am extremely interested in the ramifications blogging will have on the media, education and society.

So for now, my readers are my family, connected individuals from Baltiblogs and the other city-blogs, and random people who happen to click on a link to my blog or search for some key-word I mentioned in this. Do you think anyone searched for Rerun yet?
